Erie, PA Is The Snowiest Big City In United States Now
Erie, PA snowed into the top spot on the snow mountain on Tuesday and are still adding to their snow totals. WTG Erie and you better look down that mountain because there are a lot of cities camping on it right now trying to climb to the top
There are actually too many cities on the snow mountain right now and I am afraid of an avalanche happening. So, just a heads up that some of the cities will be tossed off of the snow mountain come the next update in a few hours.
It’s fun seeing cities from Texas, Alabama, North Carolina in the snow contest but it’s just too many for me to update a couple of times a day. I looked at around 90 cities yesterday and by the time I finished an update it was time to start another one, lol. I’m a tired man right now
I really do enjoy it and this is about the time in the snow season when I cut the list down to around 50 which is more manageable for me. I always keep an eye on the cities every now and then and if I see it is snowing in a certain area I check the cities out. Some of the cities that get tossed will be back soon I am sure and some of them will be in the Top 25 before the season is over.
The Goal Is An Accurate List Of Top 25 Snowiest Cities In The US
Keep in mind that the real goal of the Golden Snow Globe snow site is to have an accurate Top 25 list of snowiest cities in the United States. With that storm that came through the southern states and up the coast hitting some cities that don’t see that much snow I’m not as confident right now with the Top 25 as I normally am. That will work itself out though as the season goes on and different cities move in and out of the Top 25.Like I said, I do this every season and cities are rotating in and out all season.
So take one last look at all of the cities in the contest right now because some will be getting tossed off the snow mountain. I guarantee 100% that some will be back Have a great day all and stay safe…

See Snow – Drive Slow!!! Well unless you’re on a sled of course.
Erie isnt laughing at Buffalo anymore when they got 7 feet in two days in November 2014…your turn now!
I’m surprised we even have 30 inches…haven’t gotten much of anything this season yet…they have gotten pounded in the southtowns and southern tier with 4 lake snow events already…some of those places are probably over 100 inches by now…Redfield,NY east of Ontario is pushing 150 inches by now since December 1 st…
Forgt to say where…In Erie, Pa.
Broke the record for Christmas day snowfall total today. Was 8″…now at 11 1/2″!!!!
I’ve been watching some posts about Erie getting pounded, Pat. As of 5 pm Erie is reporting 13.6 inches of snow so far and 53.1 inches on the season. A good lead I’m guessing when I have some time to get an update in
54 inches since sunday evening, 12 to 16more predicted by tomorrow
Erie got 21 inches for December 25 till 11 PM. Record for Xmas day in Erie.
Latest measurement on chart is 12/4 – it is now 12/18 – what’s happening???
Hi Jackie, that was the last post I made on the blog about cities being way under average which of course is outdated right now. The Top 25 snow stats are almost always updated at least once a day, sometimes twice. You can see them here http://goldensnowglobe.com/current-top-10-snowiest-cities/
