Updated 1/10 3:00 PM – Erie, Pa is hanging tough at the top of the snow mountain still. As of this mornings update Erie has just a half of an inch snow lead over Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I took a peak at the radar and it looks like it is snowing in or at least around Grand Rapids so the afternoon update should be interesting to see if Erie can hold onto the lead

It looks like the is a good snowball fight going on between Erie, Pa and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Last seasons defending snow champs have reclaimed the Throne at the top of the snow mountain once again after Grand Rapids took it back from them with the earlier snow update. Keep an eye on Buffalo too because it looks like they are trying to make a charge up the mountain but are just falling short each time.
Erie, Pa reclaims the top spot showing 50.8 inches of snow so far for the 2014-2015 snow season. Grand Rapids is only a couple of inches behind them reporting a total of 48.7 inches this last update. Both cities have been going back and forth on the snow mountain the last couple of days. Remember that Grand Rapids, Michigan has been the King of The Golden Snow Globe mountain for most of the season.
Here are the lead changes so far give or take a day
Erie, Pa 1/9/2015 – Current Leader
Grand Rapids 1/8/2015 – 1/9/2015
Erie, Pa 1/6/2015 – 1/8/2015
Grand Rapids, Michigan 11/18/2014 – 1/6/2015
Erie, Pa 11/15/2014 – 11/18/2014
South Bend, Indiana – 11/14/2014 – 11/15/2014
Anchorage, Alaska – 10/20/2014 – 11/14/2014
Buffalo, NY is keeping up pretty good now reporting 44.3 inches on the season. It will be interesting to see how much more snow will be added to the snow totals for these cities come the next update. I think Erie may be looking pretty good for the near future but remember I’m clueless and normally wrong
South Bend, Indiana slipped past both Billings, Montana and Syracuse, NY this last update so keep an eye on South Bend too. It looks like they are ready to get into the snowball fight My Syracuse has some kind of snow net over them still so could someone please cut a whole in it so that Syracuse can play too. Stay Tuned!
Have a Great Night Everyone and as Always, See Snow – Drive Slow….
I live near Worcester, MA and we get our fair share. However, I grew up in Maine. Considering that the largest city in Maine (Portland) is under 100,000 pop., I’m not sure how accurate this really is. Maine is a lot snowier and colder. Perhaps you could consider Aroostook County a town.
