Erie is not on the list because the NWS no longer has anyone in Erie Paid to do the job. They are looking for volunteers instead, but the recording requirements ( the NWS requires 5 measurements each day: 7am, 1pm, 5p, 7pm, and midnight ) are such that no normal person will likely volunteer for this position. There are also location requirements as it pertains to the physical location and ANY obstacles of any type around the measuring board. While it is possible that someone would yet volunteer, I consider it unlikely.
